Catalogue Manager
The catalogue manager has changed visually for 2020. There are minimal functionality changes compared to the previous look and feel of the CMS you have become use to over the last several years. In order to improve user experience, we have upgrading and moved certain elements around which better suits the system and its overall use.
If you are struggling to locate something you used to use, please contact support@medialinksonline.com and someone will be able to assist you. We do recommend you have a walk through of the new layout and familiarise yourself with the location of features you use regularly.

Catalogue Structure - Accessing Categories
There are different ways a catalogue is set up. If your set up looks like the above image, then your website is designed for sub-categories (or ranges, such as motocross/enduro etc). If you only have the top level category with (no. of bikes) then you only have one category to access.
If you need sub-categories creating and your site doesn't currently have this feature, please contact us.

2. Select ADD
3. A screen will appear on the right hand side which has two options, as shown. You need to select GROUP DETAILS, input the category name and select save.
4. This should automatically appear in the catalogue structure on the left hand side, if this does not happen, log out and log back in or refresh your browser.
5. You need to populate the new category before you get started with adding models in. Select the new category from the left hand side catalogue structure area which will bring up the below page.

Adding/Editing Models
Once your categories are set up, you are now able to add new models. You can also follow the below for editing existing models.
To add a new model, you need to click into the category and then select the 'add new item' button.
To edit an existing mode, you need to click the item so that it is highlighted and then select 'edit item'
Both options will open the below screen, you are now able to edit or add information where needed. For each item to work on your website, the name, stock reference and price need to be added. The status also needs to be set to 'Live'
Additional Information
This is where your product description can be added or edited (for those who use the details tab and not the description tab), add in the spec of the bike to the attributes section and add images.
Product Descriptions
Depending on how your site was set up, you may use one of two options for your product descriptions - for those who aren't confident in using basic HTML such as <p> tags will use the details section, this section has a Word document functionality where you are able to create your descriptions easily using the tool kits available.
If you are more experienced with HTML, you can use the main descriptions box to input your product descriptions. If you use <h> tags and <p> tags correctly, your content will show live on your website correctly.
Attributes
The attribute section has been designed for you to input all of the bike specifications related to the model you are adding. Once you have selected attributes, you should see the below style list appear.
To edit an existing attribute
You need to locate the attribute you wish to edit and select the edit value button on the right hand side .
You will then see the current information for that attribute, you need to delete the text from the Attribute Value box (as directed) and input the new values. You then need to select UPDATE VALUES on the right hand side.
To add a new attribute value (new models)
If you are adding a new model and the attribute field is empty, you need to select the edit value for each attribute and input the correct value in the 'NEW ATTRIBUTE' area. Once done, you need to select 'add value' which will save the item.
To delete an attribute value
To delete an attribute value, you need to edit the item first (following the above steps) and then select the remove attribute values button. This will remove the entire entry.
Attributes which must be populated -
Every catalogue has one attribute which must be populated in order for the model to appear on the website. Most of the time, this attribute is called CATEGORY and MUST be populated with the title of the category the model is in. For example - MOTOCROSS. This is case sensitive and must be copied identically.
If your bike isn't appearing on the site, this is one thing to check.
Adding Images
One of the final steps of adding a new model or editing a current model is making sure the images are uploaded. There are two options to do this. 'Add New' will allow the upload of ONE image. 'Add multiple' will allow you to select multiple images in one go to upload directly from your computer.
Once you have selected which option you need, you need to choose 'Choose File' this will open your file locator on your desktop where you will be able to find your images (remember, these images sizes need to be 1024 x 768). Once selected, you will come back to this area and you then need to select 'Upload Image' which will begin uploading the images you selected.
Once uploaded, you can view all the images like this.
Selecting Default Images
You can also select which image to use as the first/main image customers see, to do this you need to hit 'make default' which will move the image to the front of the list.
Setting the item live -
Now the bike has been added or edited, you can check the website to see if the bike appears in the correct place. If it doesn't, check your category attribute OR the status of your bike. The status should be set to Live and the category attribute should be populated with the category the bike is in.
